Headwaters Gathering II

Bill McKibben on October 6, 2010 @ 7 PM will present in the Warren Wilson College Chapel. Bill McKibben, one of America's best known environmentalists, will serve as the Headwaters Gathering speaker for 2010, a partnership event of Warren Wilson, The Wilderness Society and Orion magazine. In 2010 the Boston Globe called him "the nation's leading environmentalist" and Time magazine described him as "the world's best green journalist.” Over the last quarter century, his books have shaped public perception and public action on climate change, alternative energy, and the need for more localized economies. McKibben is founder of 350.org, a global grassroots climate change initiative which spawned thousands of events in most of the world's nations on October 24, 2009. His most recent book is Earth…Making A Life On A Tough New Planet.

The event is free and open to the public.
